Blankie Program
Touching the hearts of our local children!
The blankie program is
very simple, yet is one of our most prized programs. Blankies are made in any size,
shape, and color and with any yarn/fabric that the volunteer wishes to use. We provide
these blankies to children who have been hospitalized for any reason. Thousands of
blankets have been made by our volunteers and distributed to area hospitals in Eastern
Washington and Idaho.
Wishing Star has expanded the Blankie Program to include many police departments and fire stations. Many times, when a child is removed from their familiar surroundings, the blankie is the only thing they have. Police and fire workers keep several blankies on hand at all times.
Your group or school can get involved in the Blankie Program by having a yarn or fabric drive. For more information on this program, please contact Wishing Star at 509-744-3411 or info@wishingstar.org.
